Can Tyvek® be printed on an Indigo Press, digitally? What about other stocks & printers?

Tyvek®, Herculink® & Fibercraft® include poly fibers that will melt the stock if it is put through a printer that generates any heat such as laser printers. Usually ink jets are okay to use, but we will not guarantee this.

Do you provide a proof and does it affect turnaround time? What is the cost?

A PDF proof is provided when requested. Your production time will start when the proof is approved & returned to Papercone. There is not a charge for one PDF proof. Hard proofs are available upon request & could be subject to a fee.

What are your printing margins & folding variance?

We require 1/4” printing margins from all edges of the envelope. We have up to 1/8” folding variance when we are converting envelopes.

Are you able to do color matches & how accurate will they be? (Color varies with different stocks.)

If you supply a swatch for an ink match, we can match it within a shade but there could be a variance depending upon what substrate we convert.

What PMS colors are used for your first class and air mail borders?

PMS 348 Green – First Class Border
PMS 192 Red & PMS 300 Blue – Air Mail Border

What types of inks are used? Are they soy-based? Do they contain vegetable oil?

Papercone inks are all 100% mineral oil free. Our inks are vegetable based.

What is “Zip Stick®”?

Zip Stick® is a hot melt pressure sensitive application on the flap with a release liner.

Is Tri-Brite® the same as Paper Tyger?

Yes, Tri-Brite® is the registered product name for Papercone.

Can you run paper credit card sleeves?

We will not manufacture paper kraft card sleeves. We can manufacture them with Tyvek®, Tri-Brite® & Guardian (RFID). (Minimums do apply.)

Are your products made in the US?

Our manufacturing plant is in Louisville, Kentucky.

What is the difference between White Wove and White Kraft?

White Wove is lightweight vellum & has a smooth finish. White Kraft is more durable & has a more coarse finish.

What is the recycled content in your stocks?

Tyvek® 10% post-industrial content
Fibercraft® 76% recycled; 68% post consumer content

Do you offer Tyvek® in colors other than white?

We can flood coat our stock to the PMS color requested.

Why didn’t I receive the exact number of envelopes I ordered?

All of our imprints & custom envelopes can undergo several operations. We require additional stock for set up & waste at each step. This determines the total quantity produced which may result in an over or under run.

Why aren’t Papercone’s overrun and underrun margins 10%?

We are a specialty converter and all of our envelopes are custom set ups.

Does Tyvek® require special storage?

We recommend all of our envelopes be stored in a temperature controlled environment.

What is the return policy?

Custom or printed envelopes are not returnable. Stock items may be returned for credit with prior approval within 90 days of shipping date. There will be a 15% restocking charge, plus any freight costs. ALL RETURNS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BY OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. RETURNED GOODS WITHOUT APPROVAL AND AN RA# WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Open End vs Open Side?

Open End: The flap opens on the short dimension of the envelope.
Open Side: The flap opens on the long dimension of the envelope.

Is booklet the same as Open Side?

Booklet refers to inside side seams. Depending on the size and specifications of the envelope will determine if it will be inside side seam or center seam construction.

What material do you use for your window cello?

We use 1.25 mil. Matte Polystyrene Envelope Window Film.

Can you produce envelopes using translucent stock or poly?

At this time, we cannot. Tyvek® is an excellent alternative to poly.

Can I get samples? Are sheet samples available?

You can contact Customer Service with a request for samples or fill out the form here. Sample sheets are available in 8.5 x 11 inch sizes.

How do I become a customer?

All potential distributors must be qualified by our sales team due to Papercone having a limited distributor base that consists of converters & merchants. Fill out this form to get more information.

What are your freight terms?

Purchases of four thousand dollars (US $4,000) or more, one delivery – one destination, will be F.O.B. destination within the continental United States and Canada. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and foreign countries other than Canada will be F.O.B. Louisville, KY.

Why was I invoiced for accessorial services if I met freight requirements?

Papercone does not pay for accessorial services, including but not limited to: Residential Delivery, Lift Gate, Inside Delivery, Sort & Segregate, and Limited Access which includes Government Facilities & all Schools. These charges will be invoiced as an additional fee and will vary based on the size and destination of the shipment.

Why did you ship 2 cartons of Tyvek® Sheets LTL on a skid when they could have gone UPS ground?

Most large size Tyvek® sheets are within UPS weight limits to ship ground, but they are damaged beyond repair if the cartons are not shrink wrapped to a skid for transit.
